Late Fall Wish List

I have been out of the shopping loop lately (that's a good thing I suppose) but here are a few items for work, play, and a night out, which have caught my eye for some late fall shopping. The striped blazer is definitely my favorite. Which of the items would you add to your wardrobe?

Burgundy Peplum and Grey

Here is my outfit from Sunday. I like combining unlikely colors so I'm trying burgundy and grey for the first time here. A peplum top is always a win for any body type. I raved about this skirt here and I have remixed it a few times. Well, have a lovely rest of the week. I hope I will be back soon.

Look What I Got: Filling Closet Gaps

Here are a few items I got during cyber Monday week to fill some of the gaps in my closet. With sales and coupons, I was able to get good deals on them.

The J Crew Factory items were purchased with a gift card I won from a giveaway. I've been looking for the perfect leopard flats and waited till these ones went on sale. The red flats were purchased because I needed wanted bright colored flats. I also own the same flats in navy which I wear all the time. I have a hard time finding comfortable flats that fit well so I came back to these ones and I don't want to wear out the navy ones. I needed the booties as an alternative to wearing tall boots with my skinny jeans and dresses. The yellow belt is to add a pop of color to that Navy peplum sleeveless top. I've been looking for a nice big sized black clutch for special occasions and the burgundy cross body...well I love burgundy and it will work great on the weekend. The black over the knee boots? I needed black boots to wear with my skinny jeans. My other tall black boots only go well with skirts. So these are my reason for these purchases. Not that you needed an explanation but I do make my purchases to meet some type of closet need. On the other hand, I could do without all of them; but they are great additions to any closet. I see a major shopping ban in the near future...you've heard me say that one before right?

Do Check back tomorrow to see how I styled the Peter Pan Collar Tee and to participate in a link up.

Feeling Fall with Orange and Brown

I don't believe it's December already. It's already going to be a real busy month. This was choir uniform for Sunday. Today's message was about God's overflowing blessings. God can do more than you can ever think or imagine. I'm trusting Him big time.

Looks like I've been wearing a lot of dark brown lately and I realize I have a lot of items in this color. I don't know what had drawn me to this shade of brown in the past, but I'm making the best use of all my dark brown clothes by pairing them with bright complementary colors. It's actually a versatile color; an alternative to black. I wore the peplum top last exactly a year ago. Whoever said If you've not worn an item for year, toss it is lying. I have many items like this and I still plan on wearing them. I only toss if an item doesn't look right on me, like the items I'm selling in my closet. Please check them out.

Jewel Toned- Cobalt and Mustard

Color blocking is one of my favorite trends and one way I like to make my outfits more interesting. I'm now liking color blocking with jewel tones (rich color tones). The peplum top was previously worn here and the mustard skirt here with some hot pink and here with rust. I embrace peplum tops because they add a little fullness to my hips.

Red Blue and Grey

I wore this floral top recently with jeans and grabbed it again today to wear with a pencil skirt. The colors and peplum style makes it so versatile and I do wear it a lot every summer. I might wear it with my green pencil skirt before the summer is over.

In the third picture, the blogger pose where I'm looking down, a friend who saw one of my posts with the same pose asked me a few weeks ago if I had lost a quarter. This is why I still hide this blog from friends! Happy Wednesday....It's almost Friday.

Denim Skirt and Peplum

A denim pencil skirt is a piece that can be dressed up for work or dressed down for the weekend. Pairing it with this peplum top and ankle strap heels is a great way to wear it for work. The peplum top looks much better in person. I love the graphic design and the leather cap sleeves.
I felt comfortable wearing the skirt all day. The only thing I don't like about it is that it further flattens my non existent behind, so I'm wearing the peplum top to add some fullness and cancel the flattening effect (sorry no side views). So, if you have a big behind, a denim skirt will work wonders.
