Going Back to Pinterest for Inspiration
Ever since I started working from home, I must confess I've been in a style rut. I've been wearing the same pair of jeans for days at a time, or if I have to go out, it's the black slacks and a sweater. One reason is because I'm home most of the time now. And another reason is I just finally switched out my summer clothes for my winter clothes. I feel like I've forgotten how to dress up. So, I found myself going back to Pinterest for inspiration. Here's a peek at my Pinterest Inspiration Board. Enjoy and Repin away!

How do You Wear your Midi
I usually stick with knee length and midi styles when it comes to wearing skirts. Wearing a midi skirt has a lady like appeal that I love. This short sleeve sweater / full midi skirt combo that I styled here will work as a spring wedding or church outfit. I hope to try a variation of this soon. I'm also loving the pencil midi which always look good with strappy heels or heeled booties. How do you wear your midi?

Five Things Friday: Beauty Style Growth
1. The grey sweat shirt has become so popular, it's almost impossible not to own one. Other sweatshirt designs have been popping up and they are hot for spring. Check out these ones from Gap.

2. I just started using my Podcast app more actively since I'm working on starting a new business. I was searching for business Podcasts to listen to and stumbled upon these two: YFE Chat and Glambition Radio with Ali Brown. Ali Brown is officially my mentor from afar. I've been listening non stop and a new entrepreneurship fire has been ignited in me. If you are currently running a business or thinking of starting one, be sure to download these two.
You'll learn a lot from the various business owners interviewed weekly. My favorite features so far: Alli Webb of the Dry Bar, Tory Johnson of Spark and Hustle and Ali Brown's interview on the YFE Chat.
4. If you are looking for the perfect moisturizing lipstick, look no further than the new Ultra color Absolute Lipstick. Pink lips anyone? Other colors available here
5. I have no idea who this guy is but I find some (not all) of his tweets hilarious. The Lady Gaga one had me cracking up.

Five Things: Life Lately
Just wanted to do a different type of post today and share a few things happening with me and the blog. I would like to say welcome to all my new friends on the blog. I hope you stay a while and thanks for following.
1. I've become more active on Instagram but still do not fully get it. For example, I don't understand why you can't link to anything in the posts or be able to save pictures you like or have a history of things you have liked. I still need to learn more about what Instagram is all about, but I seem to feel the need to take selfies lately. Please follow me. As you can see, I have zero likes for the most part ;)
2. I mentioned as part of my goals for 2014 that I wanted to learn how to make some nice graphics. I've been using PicMonkey for my collages and just recently paid the yearly subscription (not sure what I paid for yet) and I did my first design for my sponsorship page. So yes, I am taking sponsorships for the blog. I'm looking to fill three spots for February. Take 50% off if you email me and sign up by January 31st. I've sponsored quite a few blogs and I think from the experience I've learned how I would like to treat my own sponsors. I will take care of you.
3. I've been working on a project which has proven to be more difficult than I thought and I almost gave up, but this quote by Martin Luther King has kept me going. I'm going to keep taking the steps or no matter how small and in the way I know how to get it going.

Look What I Got: Filling Closet Gaps
Here are a few items I got during cyber Monday week to fill some of the gaps in my closet. With sales and coupons, I was able to get good deals on them.
Do Check back tomorrow to see how I styled the Peter Pan Collar Tee and to participate in a link up.

The J Crew Factory items were purchased with a gift card I won from a giveaway. I've been looking for the perfect leopard flats and waited till these ones went on sale. The red flats were purchased because I needed wanted bright colored flats. I also own the same flats in navy which I wear all the time. I have a hard time finding comfortable flats that fit well so I came back to these ones and I don't want to wear out the navy ones. I needed the booties as an alternative to wearing tall boots with my skinny jeans and dresses. The yellow belt is to add a pop of color to that Navy peplum sleeveless top. I've been looking for a nice big sized black clutch for special occasions and the burgundy cross body...well I love burgundy and it will work great on the weekend. The black over the knee boots? I needed black boots to wear with my skinny jeans. My other tall black boots only go well with skirts. So these are my reason for these purchases. Not that you needed an explanation but I do make my purchases to meet some type of closet need. On the other hand, I could do without all of them; but they are great additions to any closet. I see a major shopping ban in the near future...you've heard me say that one before right?

Mint and Brown
I attended a church conference this weekend and this is what I wore (without the shoes..I wore my navy blue flats) and changed into the sandals, because we had a birthday party to attend afterwards.
One of the things learnt from the conference is that we need to speak what we want. We always end up speaking and calling the obvious and the problems and issues. Speak your blessings and breakthroughs into existence. Never wake up in neutral mode hoping the day will go well or taking whatever comes your way. As you wake up in the morning, decide what your day is going to be like and stop declaring the obvious or complain like I always do. I'm going to change things up this week as far as my words go. Have a great week and expect great things!

Blue Stripes Remix
Out of the 21 pictures I took today, these are the only two which came out almost good enough to post. I'm not sure what's happening with my photos these days.
The blue striped top is an old faithful which I've worn countless times and will probably retire soon. It goes with everything. See a few other ways I've worn it below.
Instead of wearing a necklace, I opted for this scarf to complete the outfit.

Purple Jeans
Just a quick post today. I've taken pictures all week but my pictures are not coming out right for some reason. This was taken a few weeks ago. This top is another boxy top I picked up at TJ Maxx. It can be worn alone, layered with a sweater, or worn tucked into a skirt. The print and shape help to camoflage my bigger top and balance my shape.

Poppy Dots and Mint
This is my second time I'm wearing these mint jeans. Mint is a shade of skinny jeans I'm still sort of shy to wear but this pair has a lot of potential and can be remixed so many different ways. See my remix here and the first time I wore them here. This look was inspired by Sharon in this post.
