Black and Brown

Not much words today. The weather is getting a little warmer and you can see, the snow hasn't fully melted. This may be the last of these boots for this season.  I sure am tired of wearing them.
It's been a tough week for me hence the lack of posts. I thought I loved blogging enough to keep posting through the issues but it wasn't happening. But I've been hiding under God's grace and trusting in His strength and doing my best not to stay away from His presence and work through it all. I'm learning not to abandon my spiritual duty post (ministry) despite what I'm going through. So trust Him if you feel like giving up.
Well, these are more words than I wanted to write. Stay blessed and have a Happy Easter. Remember the reason we celebrate is because of what Jesus did for us. All you have to do is accept Him.

Simple Grey with an Animal Sweater

This animal sweater has been hard for me to style. Not because of the animal print but because of the length. It's too long. It's for tall people. I ordered it online and decided to keep it. For now, it only works with boot cut jeans for me. I tried them with skinny jeans but it did not look good. It's also not long enough to be a tunic.

.....And I just want to say thank you to all my new followers through the Tiny Heart giveaway. I hope you enjoy reading. And there will more giveaways soon.

Lace and Blue Suede Shoes

Sole Society Christy Suede Pump

1. I got this sweater for only $10 at Forever 21 after I saw it on Audrey. It's one of my first outfit purchases from Forever 21. They make you buy $50 worth of products to get free shipping. Well I did just that and I must say I like everything I bought including a skirt for my daughter which she loves. I can see myself wearing this sweater over and over again. I love the texture and the color goes with a lot of what I already have in my closet. I also got it in lavender.
2. I got this lace skirt at a good price from Target, but now it's even cheaper!
3. The blue suede shoes were an impulse buy, but it's going to be worn quite a bit. I already have a few outfits I would love to wear them with
4. It is still very much winter over here. I'm tired of wearing sweaters, boots and tights.

And speaking of lace, check out these pumps with lace details. You can wear lace on your heels too.

Green and Rust

I really wanted the burgundy version of this dress but it was sold out in my size so I settled for the green. The color is much greener than shown (see last picture, different lighting). I love the elbow sleeves. Elbow sleeves as opposed to long sleeves give a slimming effect.  The pockets add fullness to bottom part of the dress which is fine by me. I always want the illusion of fuller hips to balance out my heavy top; and the pleated detail conceals my big mid section. I hope you enjoyed my analysis.

Denim on Denim

I never thought I would wear denim on denim but this outfit just happened. I had to layer with a cardigan because it is still cold.  These jeans were gotten on sale at 60% off from the Limited a while ago. I love the fit, but as you can see I really need to work on my belly because I would love to tuck in more. If you have a big tummy and small hips, the 312 style at The Limited works.

Minty Fresh!

I was never into mint when it was all the rage last year but I'm warming up to the color right now.
Here are a few minty items I'm loving at The Limited. I must confess some of them have made their way into my wish list and shopping cart. Mint goes well with Brown, Navy, Yellow, Black and Coral.

Enjoy!

Red Accents and Polka Dots

Polka dots seemed to be the theme in blog world last week. I decided to wear this old faithful to church this Sunday. Our choir uniform was red black and white. I call this dress old faithful because it is old and it's been worn many times...to church, a wedding, parties, and dinners. It was one of my first outfit purchases from Target many years ago and it's still holding up well. I especially love the fact that I've never had to iron it. This is my first time wearing it with a sweater. Prior to blogging and deciding to dress better, I didn't know anything about layering a dress.

Oxford Heels and a Bad Excuse

Hey all, I'm doing better with my tights. I wore tights two days in a row and I'm getting more comfortable. These ones are from Nine West. I also brought out my oxford heels from hiding and wore them. I forgot I had them. That's the problem with not been able to display your shoes due to lack of space. Oxford heels are a great alternative to boots and pumps.

Sweater - Gap, Skirt - Macy's, Tights - Nine West, Oxfords - Nine West

P.S excuse my grainy and inside pictures. I actually took pictures outside but they ended up being bad. We usually rush those outside pics for fear of someone coming along. And I know this shouldn't be an excuse. I can never be successful without taking the risk of not caring what other people think. This blog will not be more successful unless I stop caring what other people think about me taking pictures outside pictures for the sake of quality.

Cardigan, Jeans and Scarf...

....It doesn't get more basic than this. All my sweaters and cardigans have been on  rotation a few times and I'm so ready for spring, which may not come till May for us and for maybe just one week. We may not even get a spring. This is what I wore on Saturday for errands and choir rehearsal. The cardigan is my "I'm too lazy to wear anything else sweater, which has been worn over and over again on most Saturdays. It used to be Tunic length also. I was able to wear it with with jeggings but it looks like I can't do that anymore.

Blue Legs

I took the plunge and decided to buy colored tights. I think this is how far I can go with the colored tights trend. I'm sure people were wondering what in the world I was wearing; but Oh well, as long as it is acceptable in blog world.  And speaking of tights, I think I'm getting sold on HUE tights. I've mentioned in the past that I have a problem wearing tights because they itch. I've gotten a few from HUE and so far they haven't itched much. Am I the only one who has a problem with itchy tights?
I wore the blazer more out of necessity, to conceal my heavy top. Same thing I did here.
