Flawless Skin is Possible

Here are five things you can do to achieve flawless skin

1. Cleanse your face in the morning and at night with a cleanser suited to your skin type
2. Use a facial scrub 3 times a week after cleansing to get rid of dead skin cells, dark spots and blemishes, and reveal smoother radiant skin
3. Use a moisturizer with SPF in it during the day and a night cream to renew your skin at night plus treat the eye area with eye cream
4. Use a foundation that matches your skin tone and skin type. The right foundation color should disappear on your face.
5. Avoid touching your face with your fingers to prevent transfer of oils and dirt.

Start a skin care regimen now and your face will thank you later. Adopting a skin care regimen will keep your skin looking smooth, protect you from cancer causing sun rays and keep your face lifted for years to come.

From Winter to Summer- Good Old New England Weather

Here's my first Style Post

I never got to really wear the two new spring jackets I bought this year because New England weather always does this every year. The last time I checked it was so cold and rainy; now summer seems to be here in full force.  But I'm not complaining. Here's me in my summer dress. My daughter actually asked me why I was wearing a summer dress today....It's still spring. "Not with this weather". In New England we dress according to weather and not the season.
Dress- Kohls, Cropped Sweater- Target, Necklace - Gift

I was going to wear a black sweater, my normal go to but I wanted to look more colorful. Don't be afraid to steer away from black. We tend to add a black sweater, black shoes or a black blazer to whatever we're wearing but wearing something more colorful makes the outfit more interseting.

Creating Balance

I was at my Avon Business meeting the other day and people kept asking me how I do it all. I’m always out looking for new recruits for my business and what I hear all the time is “I’m too busy”. I work full time, I’m a wife, mom (plus everything that comes with it), active in church and run a part time business. Well, I keep everything in balance. All these roles are very important to me so I have scheduled everything into my 18 hr hour days without letting any of the roles suffer much. Also, time management is very important- time wasting is not an option although there are times I do nothing which is also beneficial.  I do spend time relaxing.
So how do I balance it all-I compromise a bit on everything while still being there most of the time. You’ve got to ask for what you want to achieve your goals. For example, I asked for a day to work from home, so I can save two hours of driving in the week. I also bought one week of vacation ( I don’t even miss the money) so I could have additional days off and that is working out because I’ve been earning all these free trips from Avon. I miss one bible study session at church in a month to make my monthly Avon meetings. I may get raised eyebrows by doing this but I’m still in the faith, I’m still there and I still have my business. As a Christian I have to continue in God’s word and hang with God every day so I have a bible everywhere – on my phone, one in my car, one at work and one by my bedside so there’s no excuse not to read the word of God. For my business, I incorporate it into everything I do and everywhere I go. I’ve picked up customers along my way to work and to church so I don’t have to make any extra trips to service them. I utilize my lunch time (just 30 minutes by the way) to read my bible or email customers or work on church business(I do other administrative stuff for church). So the point is creating balance…looking at your whole week or the month and seeing where you could fit all the activities and cutting off what you can afford to cut off occasionally without totally compromising it.

So think you’re too busy to run a side business or take on something new? Think again….

Changing My Idea about Success

I read an article on the women entreprenuer website the other day and this quote caught my attention: "The definition of success for a man may be different for a woman". This really caught my attention because I realize that people hold back on their dreams because they are defining success by what other people define success to be. My idea of success may not mean the same as your idea of success. To one, success may mean raising children with good values, while to another it may mean being a good wife. Because someone else does not see this as success, the person who sees this as their dream holds back and does not do what is required to achieve such dream.
This has changed my perspective. I've actually being holding back on my dreams because I've always assumed it's not everyone's idea of success. You may be a successful manager right now or so it seems in the eyes of others but are you really successful? At what cost? Is it costing you your marriage, or your values?
So what is success to you? Go for it and don't let anyone's idea of success stop you from achieving your dreams.

Anything is Possible...Just have a Dream and Set Goals

Here are a few things you can do to help you achieve your goals.

1. Write down your goals and put them in a place where you'll see them daily or every few days. I cannot overemphasize the power of written goals. Writing your goals and looking at them constantly will spur you to action, especially when you have the benefits of the goals written down also. You must have a why behind every goal. If you don't have a reason for setting a goal that's a wrong an unnecessary goal that will go unfulfilled.

2. All of our goals require action in order to fulfill them.  You want to lose weight? Then you need to exercise. So schedule it. Set an alarm on your phone to remind you to perform the needed actions to fulfill your goals. On my phone, I've set reminders for prayer time with family, everyday sit ups and other activities. I may not do them everyday but a few days a week is not bad.

3.  Cut down on activities that have nothing to do with your goals and destiny, T.V, internet, and other activities. You do not need to give up on these activities entirely. One thing that helps with this is having a daily plan and schedule of destiny fulfilling activities (see tip No. 1)  and of course leave some free time.

4. Your dreams actually determine what your goals are. Don't let anyone destroy your dreams. The only thing that has been keeping me from going after one my dreams is my fear of what people would say. That is not a good reason to hold off on your dreams. Go for it.

Wishing you much success

The Power of Writing it Down

I love to plan and I love anything that has to do with visions, dreams and goals. Who shouldn't? That's the only way to get ahead. "Where there is no vision, the people perish" (Bible quote).
Last year, my goal was to attain the second level of sales volume in my business. I wrote it down and after reviewing the goal a few weeks later, I knew I was going to achieve it easily. I reviewed the prizes associated with the next level of sales volume achievement and I quickly determined that was the goal I wanted to achieve-$38,000 in sales (while working full time with everything else a mother has to do). I asked myself how on earth was I going to achieve that...well I took my pencil and my planner and I wrote it down and started putting a plan in place of how I was going to achieve it. Well I made it. How? I wrote it down, I looked at it every week, I planned more and ideas started rolling in. Also, there was an added bonus from the company to give everyone a boost and get to their goals faster. If I didn't have a plan, I wouldn't have been able to take advantage of the added bonus. Having your plan in place also makes you ready for opportunities that come your way.
Would you dare to dream and write it down? What would you like to accomplish, where would you like to be? Write it down and put a plan in place. You may not realize the full dream but you may achieve some of it and the process of getting there will be worth it.
"Reach for the moon because if you don't make it you'll land among the star"
A person who aims at nothing is sure to hit it.

Welcome to My Blog

Welcome to my blog about anything and everything that has to do with Beauty Style and Growth. I've come to realize that these are the three things that excite me in life. I'm beauty Advisor with Avon, I love style and everything that has to do with improving myself in every way...Spirit, mind and body. I am going to try my best to display my writing skills - I actually wanted to be a writer when I was young and I did write a couple of stories but I don't know what happened - I ended up being an engineer. My dad was surprised at the career path I chose. He's going to be even more surprised or maybe dissappointed at the path I'm taking now - Being an Avon lady. I joined Avon in 2003 when I didn't have a job and just had a baby. My dear mom-in-law introduced me to the business and I've loved it ever since. I had started a gift basket business to earn some extra money while still looking for a job and I started Avon so that I could use the products in the gift baskets.
Selling Avon has been a source of extra income and has taught me how to manage a business, become a leader and has empowered me in so many ways. I have a team of about 30 57 90 people and it's still growing one team member at a time. Hopefully some day in the near future this will be my sole source of income then I can fulfil my daughters dream to stay home with her during summer vacation and cook up other income producing projects.
As a young girl I also formed clubs and a school where I enrolled my younger cousins and their friends and even had a graduation ceremony with their parents attending.
Writer, young girl teaching, engineer, Avon lady leading a team, writing her first blog......It's all coming together now.
So what did want to be when you grew up? Or what is your dream right now? You're probably not doing that now but I believe God put that in you and is ordering your steps to get there even though it doesn't seem that's where you're going. Just look at the signs, observe the steps you've taken so far and jump at the opportunities to achieve your dream.
