Green, Stripes and Leopard

Cardigan - Old Navy (similar), Striped Top - Avon (similar), Pants - Rafaella via Macy's, Boots - Nine West (similar), Scarf - Target (similar)

1. This outfit was inspired by this post at Already Pretty
2. This striped top is very versatile and I still have so many plans for it.  It goes with everything. Worn here, here.
3. I wore this leopard scarf today to practice a new way of tying my scarves, as taught by Fran of Franish. Check it out here. I wish I saw the tutorial prior to wearing my scarf in my last post this way.
4. I need my hair to be long right now. I hate my short hair.

Pastels and Grey and a Dotted Scarf

It's been hard getting dressed this winter. Too much snow and too much cold. I should have worn tights  and heels with this skirt but I'm really not finding the energy these days for heels. There are so many heels in my closet begging to be worn. I keep buying shoes and clothes that I end up not wearing but I hope to do better justice with this skirt soon. I'm finding out that I really don't like pastels because of their paleness but there's something about pairing them with grey. I hope you like my scarf. I would love to give one away but it's currently on back order at Avon. As soon as it's available I will give one away; so stay tuned.

Monochromatic Purple

Happy Friday everyone. It's still casual days on the blog.  I've added DKNY to the brand of skinny jeans that work for me. I decided to try these out and I love them. They fit where they're supposed to and they're comfortable. DKNY is an expensive brand for me but I got these on sale plus 20% off. Can one own too many colored skinnies? I'm still looking for green ones and then I will stop there (I think). The good thing is I try not to ever pay more than $40 for a pair of jeans. I usually wait till they go on sale.

Pink and Red

...well not so much. I wanted to take part in Friday's Fancies Pink and Red challenge of the week. This is as far as I can go wearing both colors together. Pink and red is a color combo I'm not bold enough to wear in full force.
I love how these jeans play up my hips a little and fits my waist at the same time, and I know I should have worn heeled boots because of the length; but the parking lot at a certain place I go to everyday is a skating rink right now. Safety first!

Looking at these photos makes me realize how much younger I look than my age. It's time to get another weave.

Speed Dry Nailwear and The Limited Giveaway Winner

If you're always on the go like me, you might appreciate nail polish that dries in 30 seconds. As you may have noticed, I rarely wear nail polish on my finger nails. The reason is that I don't have the patience for them to dry up. I also don't have the patience for nail salons. This Speed Dry Nailwear might be my solution. Here are some fresh new colors from the Avon Nailwear collection.

I'm wearing the Avon Speed Dry Enamel in on Point Blue and First Time Teal. These are Less than $5. Order here

Work from Home in the Neutrals

Today was work from home day and the outfit I planned didn't happen. I was going to wear red and all but I really don't have the energy for that. Back to the jeans, and this time I'm resorting to the neutrals:black, grey and brown. I was in a brown rut for the past two weeks (I didn't even post all the brown outfits) and now it seems black it is. And yes I do wear makeup on my work from home days.

How I wore my Turtle Neck with a Lime Skirt

When I saw this skirt at Target, I knew I wanted it but I didn't want to pay full price for it. So, everytime I went back I would swing by to see if the price was reduced and one day it was and I grabbed it. All I knew then was that I wanted to wear it with these boots.  I also ended up wearing it with this black turtle neck sweater. I didn't have enough time to think of what else to wear it with. Maybe in the spring I'll have better ideas. But I know it goes really well with Navy and of course grey.
My turtle neck has been very versatile this season. Although this is my first time wearing on the blog, I've worn it so many times. I thought I was making a mistake when I bought it; especially when they say if you have a big chest, avoid turtle necks.... but it looks like it works? There is something about wearing a turtle neck with a pencil skirt. Do you agree?

CONTEST IS NOW OVER

Casual with a Little Sparkle

Looks like I've been wearing a lot of brown lately. I guess I had been neglecting all my browns and blacks. We are now in the deep freeze of winter and I'm not able to take the cold anymore. I don't even know how I mangaed to take these pictures outside without a jacket; and wearing a hat has been a necessity these days
for two reasons: the cold and my bad hair week. I'm thinking of getting more colors.

Blouson Top and a Skirt on Repeat

Happy Sunday everyone. Church was great today. It was a blah week for me and my body didn't really want to go to church or sing in the worship team. I did it anyway. By the time we started praying, God took over. Everything does change in His presence.
I love this blouson top because it just somehow conceals my heavy chest. I bought it years ago and it is actually too big. I've mentioned that I used to buy large without considering fit but changed that since I started taking pictures of my outfits. I hide the bigness of this top by tucking it in all the time. And I'm also happy about a skirt that somehow hides a big mid section. I also have this skirt in Navy. Once I find something that fits and flatters, I buy multiple colors. That's dressing for my shape! See the Navy skirt here and here and the brown one here.

Plain Gingham

Plain and simple was the way to go with this outfit. No necklace, belt, or tucked in shirt. All which I tried but didn't look right. Big tummy, big chest and all, I can't exactly copy other's outfits.  It did take  me a while to get the sleeves of the shirt into the cardigan....
