Hard to Find Pieces

Happy Friday everyone. Over the years, I've always been searching for the pieces below.  A red skirt, a yellow pencil skirt, a striped blazer, red dress, bow blouse and flounce hemmed dress. Well, I finally found them but I'm on a spending freeze right now when it comes to clothes. I hope by the time I'm ready to spend they'll still be available. Get these pieces for your wardrobe to add a little oomph to your style. These are pieces and colors which are hard to find, so grab 'em while you can.

Mint Fit and Flare

Happy New Year everyone. I hope you had a great holiday. Mine was fine and laid back. I honestly don't like the stress of the holidays so I just do what I can. I don't even decorate or do trees.

You can never go wrong with a fit and flare dress because it suits and flatters all body types. This one helped balance out my inverted triangle shape. I wore the cardigan to disguise my heavy top. 

My word for this year is Purpose and my theme is Amazing 2015. I want to be intentional with everything I'm doing and I want everything to be amazing. My relationships, businesses, my walk with God and my health. My bucket list for 2015 covers all these areas.

Striped Maxi and Brown Accents: A Remix

I almost didn't wear this dress on Sunday because I had worn it earlier this summer and thought I wouldn't be able to blog about it.  Can't have the same outfit twice, right? Then it occurred to me that I could style it differently. Duh! The benefits of fashion blogging: learn how to style a dress in a different way.
So here it is. I'm remixing the Floor Length Striped Maxi. I do love the dress mainly because it's so comfortable and flares slightly at the bottom to create an a line shape for my inverted triangle body.

I am challenging myself to style it for the colder weather; so stay tuned. (Not looking forward to the cold weather though).

Teal and Leopard and Why You Need a Slip

The Dress

I'm remixing my Avon leopard dress for the Joyful June challenge that I've been participating in. I'm really behind now with this challenge but I'll go at my own pace. A printed dress works wonders to hide any kind of flaw even though the prints may seem too loud. I wore it previously on its own but I wanted to try the leopard and teal combo this time around. 

The Shoes

I'm finally showing my toes on a weekday with these peep toe wedges. They are relatively new and I love how comfortable they are. Wedges are great for weekdays; and you will probably see these ones a lot this summer. 

The Slip

I'm wearing a slip like this one under the dress. I've started seeing ladies in dresses and all the back side and thigh and belly jiggle that comes with wearing dresses without slips is beginning to get to me (just kidding). But don't forget the slip.

Growth

Well, happy Tuesday and keep trudging along with your goals, dreams and desires. I've been learning a lot these past few weeks and I would love to share but it seems these outfit posts are easier and quicker to share. I will be doing a growth post soon though. Stick around!

Olive and Black - Joyful June Style

I stumbled upon the Joyful June Style Challenge by Curvy Girl on the Run on Instagram and decided to participate and that is why I'm wearing this dress.  The Monday challenge ( I know, I'm behind) is I Love Olive.  I do love olive and I own a few olive colored pieces. Olive works well with leopard, mustard, rust, yellow, gold and black.

I totally forgot about this dress and would not have worn it any time soon. This is why I love participating in challenges like this. They give you great ideas and I love it when someone else can do the thinking for me sometimes. I have a lot on my plate this month and this will help me keep blogging without doing too much work.

So let's talk about the dress. Anyone remember this from about 2 or 3 years ago? It's the olive Target dress owned by many bloggers. I saw it first on Kendi Everyday and went to Target to look for it. My favorite part of the dress is the grecian style neckline.

Green and Grey Part 2 + a Houndstooth Remix

I'm trying another green and grey combo here and remixing this houndstooth sheath dress. I haven't been able to wear the dress on its own because it doesn't flatter my shape. So I layer it to minimize my heavy top and big mid section. I'm showing two ways to layer it; with a cardigan and with a belted long sleeve tee.  Have a great week

Maxi Dress Favorites from Anthropologie

I won a gift card to Anthropologie from Ladies in Navy (Thanks again Kelsey) a few weeks ago and it took me a long time to decide what to get with my $100 gift card. I didn't realize how expensive it was to shop at Anthro. I really wanted to spend the money on something really nice and I finally settled on a maxi dress (the fourth one). It is the cheapest and it has sleeves. I have hand picked a few for you which I also love. I actually should have gone with no 1. but I wasn't sure if it was going to fit over my chest and No. 3 is my absolute favorite but I didn't want to spend much more than the gift card amount.  I would probably stalk it till it goes on sale (I've been doing great with spending y'all). Do you shop at Anthropologie? If so do you pay full price or wait for sales?
