Chambray and Gold Dots

Yes, the dots on this skirt are gold unlike others I've seen. I saw this skirt online and I could have sworn it was black with white dots. Well, when it came in...behold gold dots! I was going to return it but after much thought I decided to keep it.

Glammed Up

This is what. I wore to our church Anniversary dinner this past weekend. I really didn't have time to shop for an outfit for the event so I settled for this one that I found the day before. It was the only one left and it was in my size. Originally $300 (way overpriced in my opinion) and got it for about $80. I probably would have done better but I needed it for the next day. Anyway, it was nice to see everyone all dressed up and see how really beautiful all the women in our church are.

Burgundy and my Zara Sandal Look Alike

It seems burgundy has disappeared from the scene. It was all the rage last year and now the color is no where to be found. Well, I have these burgundy skinnies and I will keep wearing them whether the color is still trendy or not. I have a burgundy top that I haven't even worn yet.
I'm wearing the famous Zara ankle strap sandals....No, a look alike with studs for only $15. They are marked down at my local Target. They are comfortable and I can wear them for day because the heels are about 3 or 3 1/2 inches. I seem to be going back to heels that are less than 4 inches.
...And I just realised that everything I'm wearing is from Target.

Navy and Mark Pink Skirt

Happy Wednesday. I'm on a pink streak this week. It just makes sense to keep wearing color and if you're wearing color, you might as well color block. I was actually going to wear a yellow sweater but I thought it would be too much for work so I settled with this navy blue one first worn here with lime.
And these wedges,  you've seen so many times. I keep reaching for them. They just go with everything and they are the perfect height for everyday wear. I might wear them again tomorrow.

I just want to say thank you for all your wonderful comments on previous posts and welcome to all my new readers. I hope you continue to enjoy reading.

Loving Yellow

I've fallen in love with all things yellow for spring. Here are some of my favorite picks. Some have already made their way to my closet and I have the sandals in my order cart (make sure you don't get my size sold out). I have the shirt dress and love it. Can't wait to wear it. I also have the yellow shirt and would love to wear it with my purple pencil skirt and mint jeans. Yellow is a versatile color for color blocking and pairing with neutrals. Color block with Purple, Blue, Navy, Cobalt, and Green or wear with neutrals such as grey, brown and black. Are you loving yellow yet?

Hot Pink...again

I've worn hot pink a lot this season; or should I say Neon Pink. This time I'm wearing with black. Plain pink and black....and you guessed it right. It was my choir uniform for Sunday. I've worn this with Navy and my other hot pink blouse with Dark Brown. Next will probably with my lime green skirt. I might not get an opportunity soon to do that though.  I added interest to the outfit by wearing this necklace from InPink. I've had the necklace for a while but I haven't been bold enough to wear it. Everyone liked it though.

Have a blessed week

Graphic Tee and Purple Skinny Jeans

I've been loving the graphic tee with a blazer look. When Avon came out with this tee, I immediately ordered it. It reads "Strong". I am also still loving my purple skinnies from DKNY (first worn here). I'm always happy when I find skinny jeans that fit my big mid section and doesn't magnify my inverted triangle shape.

Tip: If you are skinny on the bottom and don't want to look like an inverted triangle, wear skinny jeans that are really jeans (have thicker material) and are longer. And wear with heels or wedges if possible. If the material is thin and if it's tapered at the bottom, wear with boots to balance your shape out.

Blue and White

This is what I wore to church on Sunday. We had no uniform specified so I decided to wear this dress that has been sitting in my closet for over a year without ever being worn. I didn't even think it would fit. It's another fit and flare dress that works well for my heavy on top, small on the bottom shape.  I'm getting my money's worth out of these blue suede shoes. I have so many other outfits to wear them with. Have a great rest of the week and let's continue to pray against evil in this generation and for everyone affected by the Boston tragedy. I pray that the Lord will have mercy and keep us all.

Mustard Pencil Skirt

I feel weird still wearing a scarf and boots. But it's cold. It's winter in the mornings and Spring in the afternoon these days. Hopefully next week will be better. I Love the color of this pencil skirt. It can be paired with so many other colors. I wore it first here and combined it with two other colors and I can't wait to style it for spring. I don't like the shape so much though. As you can see, my hips are not big enough to fill out the skirt (or I should say because I'm so heavy on top) I don't look as balanced as I would have loved. But hey, I really don't care sometimes.

A little bit of Spring with Green and Orange

We've had some okay weather for the past few days so I wanted to look a little springy. I can't wait to put away my socks and boots for good. But It looks like I can't do that yet. The forecast is for colder weather in the next few days.
I love all the spring colors I'm seeing lately and I think color blocking is back. This green and orange combo is one I've never tried before. The outfit was insired by Ginny of  My New Favorite Outfit.

Tale of a Blue Dress

Wore this to a 50th birthday birthday party three hours away on Saturday. It was a long ride; that's why I'm looking so tired. It was worth it though. We had a great time and I was blessed. Got back just in time to sleep for a few hours and get ready for church. Thank God for grace and strength and mercy.
The first time I wore the dress was for a wedding in Florida two years ago. On the morning of the wedding, I didn't know till a few hours to the wedding that the original dress I bought and took there still had the security tag on it. You can imagine the panic attack I had. It was my sister in law's wedding. They did not have Macy's in the town and no other store would take the tag off. I started looking for a new dress 30 minutes to the wedding. I finally found this one that someone had just tried on and did not like, for much cheaper ($37) versus the $80 I paid for the original dress. I also prefer this dress to the other one. Thank God again for his mercies. Phew!
