Greens and Greys

Green with grey is a color combination that I'm loving lately. I was sent this mint infinity color block scarf by 9th & Elm and I decided to wear it with this grey dress, an Avon favorite of mine. The green trench is making it's debut on the blog. I think I got it two years from Old Navy and never wore it much because, let's face it, it's a spring jacket and we don't get much of a spring around here. It's still sort of cold as we speak and next thing you know, it will be summer and there will be no need for jackets. Anyway, if you're looking for a way to wear your grey piece next time, try pairing it with something green.

Window Pane: A must Have for Spring

I picked up the window pane blouse shown at Target when I went in for some paper towels (Don't judge). I figured it would be a nice addition to my closet and great for work and church. The window pane design is different and classy and a great conversation starter. The design is hard to find and they sell out quickly; more so the colored ones. Green Cardi and Khaki

That is fresh snow in the background. Cloudy, rainy and snowy is what we got around here. But hey, I'm not really complaining. The spring/summer weather that is bound to happen will have to happen soon. The back to winter weather is the reason I'm wearing tights, which some of you I'm sure I've already put away for the season. The green sweater is much greener than pictured so the green and khaki color combination looks better in real life.
I'm looking forward to the long weekend...no work tomorrow. Finally a day off without having to be in bed all day. I can actually get stuff done that I've been putting off.

Q+A : Getting to know me

I was relaxing with my April issue of People Style Watch magazine on Friday and enjoyed reading the question and answer session with Gabrielle Union. I decided to provide my own answers to the same questions so you can get to know me a little better. So here goes:

What are your fave Jeans?

My favorite jeans are from Jean Star. I got them from TJ Maxx years ago and cannot find the brand anywhere. They play up my hips and just fit everywhere. They are really old now so I'm looking for a replacement. Worn here.

How do you play up your eyes?

I line my eyes with Avon's Glimmersticks eyeliner in blackest black. That's the makeup item I can't do without

Gbemisoke: Love her hashtags. No one does hashtags like she does

What's your trick for getting out the door and still looking great?

For my face, foundation and eyeliner. The foundation brightens up my face and wearing eyeliner opens up my eyes. I wear a dress (no mixing and matching required) and low heels or wedges when I'm in a hurry.

How would you describe your style?

My style is simple, a little on the modest side and a little trendy. I do keep up with trends...colored skinnies, florals, peplums, color blocking, you name it. But cropped tops and Aztec leggings...no way.

Maxi Dress Favorites from Anthropologie

I won a gift card to Anthropologie from Ladies in Navy (Thanks again Kelsey) a few weeks ago and it took me a long time to decide what to get with my $100 gift card. I didn't realize how expensive it was to shop at Anthro. I really wanted to spend the money on something really nice and I finally settled on a maxi dress (the fourth one). It is the cheapest and it has sleeves. I have hand picked a few for you which I also love. I actually should have gone with no 1. but I wasn't sure if it was going to fit over my chest and No. 3 is my absolute favorite but I didn't want to spend much more than the gift card amount. I would probably stalk it till it goes on sale (I've been doing great with spending y'all). Do you shop at Anthropologie? If so do you pay full price or wait for sales?

Sandals for Spring

It's time to start showing some toes with spring sandals. Wearing sandals is one of my favorite things to do once the weather starts warming up. Here are a few picks for you and how to wear them....from dressy, to edgy, to casual; each one of these sandals will make a great addition to your wardrobe and take your outfit up a notch. I love them all and want them all; especially no 1. and 5. I already own something similar to no. 2 and no 4 so I shall be content with not getting those. Happy shopping!
