Blush and Skinnies: One Outfit, Three Events

I've had this blouse from Old Navy for a while. I'd been meaning to wear it with my burgundy pencil skirt but the need for wearing that skirt never came up, so I decided to wear it with jeans last weekend. No use having something in your closet and not wearing it.  

The outfit served triple duty on Saturday. I had choir rehearsal, then went on to teach a class and then to a baby shower later in the evening.  Silky/polyester flowy blouse, skinny jeans and heels: works for any occasion and most definitely for my apple shaped body.

Striped Sleeveless Top: Three Ways to Wear it

Finally an outfit post. I just can't explain why the pictures I've taken in the past few weeks have not made it to the blog.  Below is an outfit from Saturday; I'm also showing three ways to wear the black and white sleeveless top. As you can see, it's a great summer staple and can be layered for fall. I would also wear it with shorts and probably tucked into a skirt. I realize that all three looks are black and white combinations. The top would also look great with green cropped pants. Which look is your favorite?

Casual Cobalt and Mint

Nothing spectacular about this outfit. My comfy look from last week for running around and choir rehearsal. I'm currently on vacation after a three day training with John Maxwell, so enjoy some of my old posts. Will be back soon.

Floor Length Striped Maxi

It's maxi season again and I think Target had me in mind when they designed this dress. Perfect for my apple inverted triangle body type. Not clingy, hides the tummy and enlarges the hips a little, and most importantly, so comfortable. I also love the slits. I'm carrying the bag the second time this week. It is a cross body bag with removable straps and it is my birthday present to myself just because I  had ordered it and it showed up on my door step on my birthday. And Speaking of that, I did promise a birthday giveaway and it's coming.

Navy, Burgundy and Plaid

I was about to take my pictures outside for this post and was surprised by the falling snow. I had no idea it was snowing and I had to resort to taking these grainy pictures. Please bear with me and my camera. I think it's time for an upgrade.

The outfit was inspired by this pin from Living in Color Print. I scored the bag during after Christmas sales at the Coach Factory. I never even considered shopping coach bags until I discovered the Coach Factory. I got this one for $100. I had been looking for a quality tote bag that could double up as a cross body bag. It's also so easy to carry as a shoulder bag.

Three Ways to Wear Teal Skinny Jeans

This is the same exact outfit I'm wearing here. Only the sweater is different but you can't tell. I'm even wearing the same scarf. Didn't realize I chose the same scarf until I saw the older post. Looks like it is my outfit of choice for the day after a snow storm. I also wore it after a major snow storm the last time. 

I've worn the teal skinnies quite a few times. Below are other ways I've styled them and as you can see, I've worn the same cognac boots with all three looks. I guess I need a pair of black riding boots. I purchased two recently but returned them because they didn't work out. I'm thinking of trying these ones next.

Dots and Stripes

Just a quick post for you today. The fact that I do not have my photographer available to take my pictures anymore except on the weekends has made it possible for me to take even more outfit pictures. I take them myself now during the week so I always have too many pictures sometimes. I usually talk myself into not taking pictures on some days. 

This is what I wore on Friday. Final day of all the walking around and being on my feet at work. Another simple, comfortable outfit. The scarf (previously worn here) is actually a regular scarf. I turned it into an infinity scarf. I should be back to some fancy posting next week. Have a great weekend.

Stripes, Cobalt and a Hint of Leopard

This is what I wore on Saturday. It was a nice fall day here in New England. And when I say nice, I mean 40 degrees nice. Everyone has finally accepted that 50 degree and higher weather will not come around again till April or May. Now we're just waiting for the snow. 

I'm mixing prints here with the leopard and stripes. Wearing tall or over the knee boots with some of my skinny jeans that have a tapered leg opening plus a non tunic sweater helps balance my shape. Without them, I would have looked like an inverted triangle with this outfit.

I'm leaving you with this for the week ahead. Do not give up what is yours, do not settle for the alternative because what you are doing now is not working right, or you've hit a road block. Just because you've hit a road block doesn't mean this wasn't meant for you. Be it your business, your marriage, your dreams, your blog...whatever...you are probably at the edge of your breakthrough and you don't know it. This is what I learnt in Church on Sunday. Burgundy and Brown and What I Did on Black Friday

Guess what I got on Black Friday? Nothing! I spent my Friday doing some running around for my Avon business, visited a friend and spent the rest of the day putting braids back in my hair. I'm not even going to tell you how long it took. Let's just say I browsed my Facebook and Twitter timelines till there was nothing else to see, watched two movies, read my bible, responded to a couple of emails, and worked on getting the blog re-designed by Designed Lovely Studio before I was done. Thank God for the iPad. It was a productive day after all.

The color combo for this outfit was inspired by this pin. I love burgundy with brown...well I love burgundy with everything..and it does go with everything.

Stripes, Scarf and Hat

Happy Monday everyone. It was too cold to take pictures of yesterday's church outfit, so I am just sharing this look from Saturday...a typical fall/winter weekend look. Sweater, scarf, boots and a hat with a cross body bag are just perfect for running errands, staying warm and comfortably chic.

As you can see, my braids are out and that's why I wore the hat. My hair is out of control now. Not sure what I want to do with it. I am tired of putting chemicals in it, so the braids are going back in soon.

Purple Sweater and Printed Pants + $125 Giveaway

This is what I wore on Saturday. It was the day I decided I did not want to wake up early to go anywhere. I'm usually up early every day of the week rushing somewhere...to work or to church or somewhere. I really needed some rest.
