Here's a casual look from a few weeks ago. I had mentioned in a previous post that I couldn't wear this shirt on its own, but it looks like my body changed since the last time I said that. I wore the shirt this time thinking that I would have to layer it, but it looked okay worn alone. It would look better layered but I didn't want to go through all the fuss of layering.

A Taste of Orlando, Florida

Hello, I 'm back! I mentioned in the last post that I was on vacation and also went for a training in Orlando. I've actually been back for a while but outfit posts just not working out lately. 

Here are a few pictures form the trip. We operated on a very busy schedule as we had to hit Universal Studios, Sea World, Aquatica and Downtown Disney. We even rushed to the airport from one of the parks.

Favorite Sleeveless Top

I was going to wear a basic tee with these jeans for work for casual Friday but reached out for this blouse instead, to disguise the muffin top that I wasn't happy with. Yes it's time for me to lose some weight. I really need to get on it now. I just want to lose 10 lbs that's all, so that my clothes can fit better.  I know I know, that's vain, not like everyone keeps saying they want to lose weight because of health reasons. Well, I'm being honest here; I want to lose weight because I don't want to go up a size and I don't like muffin tops.  Meanwhile, tops like these are great to wear with jeans if you are apple shaped.

Black Crops

Here's a simple summer work outfit from this week. Sleeveless top, cropped pants and wedges layered with a sweater. I didn't realize It was rainy and cold so I grabbed the sweater last minute and  I don't believe I had it on all day. It was a chilly day for sure. I didn't mind it though. The cropped pants are another favorite of mine because they fit despite having a big mid section and small hips.

My Red White and Blue

Here's my version of red white and blue. I just had to jump on the band wagon and do a red white and blue outfit. I wore this to church on Sunday; it's also a great summer outfit for work if you work in a corporate setting. We stayed home all day on July 4th because it was raining.  We had a hurricane warning so no plans were made. It was a nice relaxing day and I finally put all my winter clothes away.

P.S excuse the bad picture quality. My camera broke and I'm using a borrowed one and still need to figure the settings out.

Life doesn't give us what we want. We have to GO and get what we want out of life!

Old Navy Boyfriend Khakis

 

I'm happy I purchased these Old Navy Boyfriend Skinny Khakis; They fit. I've been looking for the perfect navy cropped pants. You know the criteria, something that would fit over my belly, not too big in the thigh area and that will not further make me an inverted triangle. These can be dressed up or down and I love love that there's some stretch but they do not become loose by the end of the day. Cropped pants are a staple for work in the summer and I'm thinking of getting these in Olive for weekend wear. The shell top worked well to balance out my shape.

Floor Length Striped Maxi

It's maxi season again and I think Target had me in mind when they designed this dress. Perfect for my apple inverted triangle body type. Not clingy, hides the tummy and enlarges the hips a little, and most importantly, so comfortable. I also love the slits. I'm carrying the bag the second time this week. It is a cross body bag with removable straps and it is my birthday present to myself just because I  had ordered it and it showed up on my door step on my birthday. And Speaking of that, I did promise a birthday giveaway and it's coming.

Teal and Leopard and Why You Need a Slip

The Dress

I'm remixing my Avon leopard dress for the Joyful June challenge that I've been participating in. I'm really behind now with this challenge but I'll go at my own pace. A printed dress works wonders to hide any kind of flaw even though the prints may seem too loud. I wore it previously on its own but I wanted to try the leopard and teal combo this time around. 

The Shoes

I'm finally showing my toes on a weekday with these peep toe wedges. They are relatively new and I love how comfortable they are. Wedges are great for weekdays; and you will probably see these ones a lot this summer. 

The Slip

I'm wearing a slip like this one under the dress. I've started seeing ladies in dresses and all the back side and thigh and belly jiggle that comes with wearing dresses without slips is beginning to get to me (just kidding). But don't forget the slip.

Growth

Well, happy Tuesday and keep trudging along with your goals, dreams and desires. I've been learning a lot these past few weeks and I would love to share but it seems these outfit posts are easier and quicker to share. I will be doing a growth post soon though. Stick around!
