Introverted Passion Extroverted Success - My Tedx Talk

I know I haven't blogged in a long long while. I am still trying to find the time to come back to blogging here. Since I started my company three years ago, I've been so busy trying to grow my client base. Well one thing that has come out of me running the Growth Studio is giving a Tedx Talk. I talk about my journey from shy kid, to introverted engineer to passionate entrepreneur. Enjoy and please let me know what you think.

Thank you!

Found the Perfect "BoyFriend" Jeans

I finally found the perfect "boyfriend jeans", the new Girlfriend jeans from Gap. They fit my apple, inverted triangle shape. I love the stretch and color, and the fact they fit over my belly without the dreaded muffin top. They run big, so size down.

…And no that's not me in the photo. I know I've been away for too long. Still not sure if I can continue blogging regularly about fashion. I've been working so hard on my company, the Growth Studio. But we'll see….

Kick Yourself in the Behind

Personal development, How to achieve your goals, improve your attitude

How true is this for you? Are you looking inward? Take time to reflect on your actions (or inaction) and see what you can do to improve to help you get better results. Blaming external forces and offering excuses will not take you far?

What excuses have you come up with lately? How can you squash them? How can you work on what you can control instead?

P.S.  You will see more outfit posts soon. I've been so busy with the Growth Studio that I haven't been able to focus on the blog.

See you soon!

Why Intentions Matter

It's the middle of February. For me, after the slow month of January, the year seems to start going by so quickly.  Are you still in hot pursuit of your goals? Are you beginning to cross items off your bucket list? If the initial hype of making new years resolutions and creating bucket lists is wearing off or you haven't written down any goals in a while, here are four reasons why you need to. Here are four reasons why you need to be intentional about your life.

1. You will stop giving in to excuses. You will stop blaming your circumstances, others, society and the government for that issue or problem. Think of the last time you gave an excuse, or the one area where you're still giving excuses and placing blame. Could it be you have not been intentional in that area?

2. You will actually get something done. You will actually accomplish something. You will become better. You will finally get results. What you write down has a way of making you accountable and helps you take action.

3. You will become aware of opportunities and they will stop passing you by. Once you are intentional about something, the resources to get it done will start showing up. Not because they weren't there before but because you are now aware.

4. You actually get to fix a problem before it happens. You become more proactive. You will stop living in reactive mode.

I challenge you to be intentional about your life, business, relationships, spiritual life, career, family....whatever you value, and see what a difference it makes. I am sure you want to grow, reach your God given potential, and ultimately become significant and be of value to the world. That is what success is all about. But you have to start by being intentional.

This is our fifth day stuck at home (not consecutive) due to all the snow we're getting...And it will be the sixth day tomorrow.

Anyway, that's no excuse for not taking outfit pictures right? Although, I've not been blogging much lately, I felt I needed to take my outfit pictures snow or not.

Mint Fit and Flare

Happy New Year everyone. I hope you had a great holiday. Mine was fine and laid back. I honestly don't like the stress of the holidays so I just do what I can. I don't even decorate or do trees.
You can never go wrong with a fit and flare dress because it suits and flatters all body types. This one helped balance out my inverted triangle shape. I wore the cardigan to disguise my heavy top.
My word for this year is Purpose and my theme is Amazing 2015. I want to be intentional with everything I'm doing and I want everything to be amazing. My relationships, businesses, my walk with God and my health. My bucket list for 2015 covers all these areas.
What are you up to for 2015?

Black and Random

Wearing all black and trying to stay warm; turtle neck, hat and all....okay, I took the hat off because it was giving me a head ache. I'm doing a Random Wednesday Post today.

1. I am still working hard to build The Growth Studio. That's why I'm not posting much.

2. I've been networking quite a bit and meeting so many lovely people, getting more ideas and learning so many new things. I wish I had done this while I had my full time job. Whether you are in a job or own a business, I encourage you to join one or two networking groups. It will grow you beyond where you are.

3. I've been thinking about my 2014 Bucket List, crossing things off and I'm getting ready to work on my 2015 bucket list. I'm also waiting for my new planner. I went with Erin Condren last year but unfortunately or fortunately, I'm doing the Passion Planner this year because my schedule and work is so different now. I thought I was going to stay with Erin Condren forever. I'm still going to use their notebooks though and I love their stickers.

4. At a networking meeting yesterday, we were asked to describe what kind of Christmas ornament we would be and why. It was amazing what all the other ladies shared. I picked Christmas lights. I want to be an example, an inspiration, a testimony of God's goodness and be able to let people know that they can be the best they can be and achieve their greatest potential. I actually wrote it down because I never really thought about that.

So what have you been up to?

Going Back to Pinterest for Inspiration

Ever since I started working from home, I must confess I've been in a style rut. I've been wearing the same pair of jeans for days at a time, or if I have to go out, it's the black slacks and a sweater. One reason is because I'm home most of the time now. And another reason is I just finally switched out my summer clothes for my winter clothes. I feel like I've forgotten how to dress up. So, I found myself going back to Pinterest for inspiration. Here's a peek at my Pinterest Inspiration Board. Enjoy and Repin away!

Cobalt Maxi For all Seasons

I never thought there would be more than two ways to wear this cobalt maxi dress. I wore it this weekend for my sister in law's baby shower. I got tired of wearing pants and wanted something more comfortable. I mentioned previously that I could wear the dress to bed...it's that comfortable. See below for other ways I've worn it over the years. Maybe I'll wear it with a blazer next time. What do you think?
