Neon Red?

Happy Monday. Not much words today. Busy Busy Busy.
I'm showing how I wore my Ashton Blouse from The Limited two ways. I didn't own a nice solid red blouse (needed a nice red blouse for choir uniform) and got this when it went on sale. It's even priced better now I believe. It looks like neon red in these pictures but it is less blinding in real life.  I also got it in Kelly Green. Once I find something that works as far as fit and color, I end up buying multiple colors. It works great tucked into a skirt for work or church and worn loose with skinny jeans. I would also wear it tucked into dress pants.

Navy, Burgundy and Plaid

I was about to take my pictures outside for this post and was surprised by the falling snow. I had no idea it was snowing and I had to resort to taking these grainy pictures. Please bear with me and my camera. I think it's time for an upgrade.

The outfit was inspired by this pin from Living in Color Print. I scored the bag during after Christmas sales at the Coach Factory. I never even considered shopping coach bags until I discovered the Coach Factory. I got this one for $100. I had been looking for a quality tote bag that could double up as a cross body bag. It's also so easy to carry as a shoulder bag.

Iro and Buba: An African Attire

I just wanted to give you a taste of my Nigerian culture by showing you one of my African attires. I've actually worn a couple on this blog. This style is called the iro and buba (pronounced as it is spelled) and it is one of the oldest and most popular styles custom made and worn by many. Since most African attires are custom made, they fit perfectly and flatter any body shape. The top part (buba) is slightly loose fitting and the bottom part (the iro) is just a rectangular piece that is tied around the waist. You can wear it long or short. As you can see, the style disguises my apple shape. The last time I wore this outfit was 10 years ago and it still fits even though I've gained a bit of weight since then. I've also kept this simple by not wearing a gele (head tie) as seen here.

Three Ways to Wear Teal Skinny Jeans

This is the same exact outfit I'm wearing here. Only the sweater is different but you can't tell. I'm even wearing the same scarf. Didn't realize I chose the same scarf until I saw the older post. Looks like it is my outfit of choice for the day after a snow storm. I also wore it after a major snow storm the last time. 

I've worn the teal skinnies quite a few times. Below are other ways I've styled them and as you can see, I've worn the same cognac boots with all three looks. I guess I need a pair of black riding boots. I purchased two recently but returned them because they didn't work out. I'm thinking of trying these ones next.

My 2014 Partial List of Goals

This post is Inspired by Simply Alli and I'm linking and answering the following questions:

A bad habit I’m going to break: spending money at Dunkin Donuts everyday and abnormal online shopping. I need to look for ways to survive without everyday coffee.

A new skill I’d like to learn: some basic graphic design

A person I hope to be more like: Jesus..I've been thinking a lot about how God has given us the same power that he gave Jesus Christ and how he expects us to use it. Having compassion, laying hands on the sick, raising the dead even..

A good deed I’m going to do: Help those in need more. My husband has said this year we need to focus on giving to needy families. We will not be doing Christmas gifts like we did in 2013. 

A place I’d like to visit: Nigeria my home country. Even though I'm American I still claim Nigeria because I was raised there and my parents are from there.

A book I’d like to read: so many business books, starting with "How Successful people think" by John Maxwell. I'm also currently listening to "Today Matters" by the same author

A letter I’m going to write: none

A new food I’d like to try: none...more like foods I need to stop eating

I’m going to do better at: being more relatable.

I have a long list of other things I want to accomplish in 2014. These are all typed up but I'm waiting for this workbook to come in so I can transfer everything in there and be able to see them and plan better. I also wanted to try a new planner and ordered an Erin Condren planner...waiting patiently for it. It is a bit pricey but you can get $10 OFF by registering here. I do tend to splurge on planners or anything that aids my development.
