Polka Dot Sweater

I love Polka Dots, the color green and navy blue. Plus I love these boots and skinny jeans that fit. This is the perfect Friday outfit for me. I really love the texture of this sweater because it doesn't show any bumps and the rise of jeans helps too. I'm beginning to figure which fabrics work for my body type.

Striped Sweater Dress and Hue Tights

Sweater dresses and tunics that I've gotten in the past have not been forgiving to my figure. I like it when a sweater dress doesn't show all my imperfections. The A-line shape of this one helps balance my shape. I got it from Old Navy during their $19 dress sale.

Now on to the tights..I mentioned in a previous post how I cannot survive all day in tights or panty hose. The only one that works for me is a pair from Nine West (not sold any longer). I decided to try HUE since everyone seems to wear them and I thought they might be fine but the tights came off right after taking these pictures. They lasted till 4pm - which is not too bad. Does anyone else have problems with tights itching or it's just me?

Simple Work Wear with an Old Navy Sweater

During the cold months for work, my uniform is a sweater with pants. I add a scarf for added interest and for warmth and I'm all set. This is the real dress code at my job. All the skirts and heels I wear are usually distracting so I'm keeping it low key this week.

Peach and Black Lace

Peach and Black was our choir uniform for Sunday. I decided to take a break from my regular black pencil skirts and wear this lace skirt. I purchased it a while ago on sale for about $10. I got it because of the price and it stayed in my closet for almost two years. It's now one of the big items of the season. As mentioned in a previous post, nothing is new. All these trends are hiding in our closets somewhere.

Purple and Nude and Comfortable Tights

Happy Wednesday! I've been trying to stay away from the basic black goes with everything look and trying different color combinations.  I love pairing purple with nude.
I usually take off my tights before the day is over because they itch and are so uncomfortable. But I was able to survive all day in these ones from Nine West. I just bought a pair of HUE tights and I'm yet to try them to see if I can survive in them. It seems everyone wears HUE tights so there must be something great about them. Does anyone ever have problems wearing tights?

Burgundy Pleats and Spotted Shoes

The last two times I wore this dress before Burgundy/oxblood/Wine/Maroon became the "It" colors for fall, I called it a red dress. Today? Behold my burgundy dress. I didn't know I had the "It" color in my closet. Next year, maybe when red becomes the color of the season, I might go back to calling it my red dress. I love the pleats because of the fullness they add to my hips.

Rust with Teal Skinny Jeans

I'm taking casual blue jeans Friday up a notch by switching to colored jeans. Other ways to spice up an outfit? Wear and combine interesting colors or add a printed scarf.

I wrote about skinny jeans for non model body types here. This pair from The Limited is a winner and is perfect for my bigger mid section, small hipped body type.

Cobalt Blue Peplum and Black

I've always loved peplum tops before they became all the rage, but couldn't find them anywhere. Now they're everywhere. I like them because they create fuller hips to help balance out my shape better.

 You can tell something is missing from this outfit - a necklace. I just couldn't find the right necklace to go with the top.

Red Pants

...The colored pants saga continues ;). I finally caved in and bought a pair of red skinnies. I've been wanting one for over a year but haven't had the courage or found the perfect fit. I finally found this one at Macy's onsale for only $9. The Style and Co version of skinny jeans are perfect for my body type. They fit everywhere, especially over my mid section, and they are not too tight. The rise is just perfect.

Blue Pants

I'm getting used to colored pants now. Love the combination of cobalt blue and black and white. It was kinda warm again so I figured I could wear cropped pants one more time. I was working from home so accessories are at a minimum.
